CHOCOLATE a quick way for healthy hair!

Chocolate! Indulge Your Hair

chocolate tips
Mmmmm… Chocolate. Just the thought of this sweet, decadent delight makes my mouth water in anticipation. I love everything about chocolate, from its taste to the indulgent scent. I am a bona fide chocoholic, and the latest details on its health benefits just add more fuel to my love of my favorite treat. But, chocolate in my hair? Aside from a few baking catastrophes that I would rather not relive, the thought of chocolate in my hair never really crossed my mind. Of course, that is until I encountered Alcantara Cosmetica’s TRAYBELL Cacao Extract Nutritional Recharge Shampoo and Micro-Emulsion.
Before you start getting images in your head of me pouring chocolate syrup on my head, let me explain. To the ancient indigenous peoples of Central and South America, cacao was known as “the food of the gods” and was believed to hold the secrets to health and power. The reality is that Cacao is packed full of antioxidants and vitamins. In fact, a 2003 study revealed that cacao has a much higher concentration of antioxidants than other well-known sources of antioxidants such as black tea, green tea and red wine. Why are antioxidants so important and what does that mean for my hair? Antioxidants work by protecting our cells from damaging molecules called free radicals. Free radicals are basically unstable oxygen molecules that can trigger changes in the structure of normally healthy cells. Simply put,
Antioxidants neutralize free radicals, keeping your follicles from harm as well as maintain the integrity of cell membranes -- all of which contribute to proper hair growth.

The “Chocotherapy” treatment (as my dear friends at Alcantara like to call it) consists of two main components:

shampoo cacao
TRAYBELL Cacao Extract Nutritional Recharge Shampoo incorporates Keratin proteins that provide resistance and elasticity to the hair fiber, reinforcing its natural defenses and improving the growth of the hair. It also contains polyphenols that nourish, strengthen and energize the hair. Theobromine - a mild stimulant within the cacao – improves micro-capillary circulation and prevents photo-aging and free radical formation. Vital minerals such as magnesium, iron, potassium, calcium and vitamins E, B1 and B2 reinforce the natural defenses of the scalp.

microemulsion cacaoTRAYBELL Cacao Extract Nutritional Recharge Micro-Emulsionincorporates D-panthenol (pro-vitamin B5) that remains in the hair stem once applied even after the rinsing. It retains the hair’s moisture and shine and provides elasticity from the inside. In addition, it contains silk proteins - principally Fibroin - whose protective, moisturizing and conditioning properties restore the capillary fiber resulting in soft, silky, luxurious hair.

For an added boost of antioxidant power, TRAYBELL V3 Hair Vitaminic Complex is a leave-in treatment that supplements and strengthens weak, distressed hair with Vitamin A (retinol) to stimulate cell regeneration, while Vitamins C and E provide a high anti-oxidant power against free radicals.
As you can see, no one is pouring chocolate syrup anywhere it doesn’t belong (unless I have another one of my famous baking adventures). Instead, Alcantara Cosmetics has found yet another way to show us how much they love our hair… this time, with all the benefits of cacao. So go ahead: enjoy my new favorite chocolate treat. Indulge your hair in the exotic scents and deliciously nourishing effects of Chocotherapy. I have a feeling you’ll be a chocoholic, too.

  1. The keratin hair treatment replenishes hair with additional keratin, so the effects of chemical processes, such as coloring and bleaching, can be overcome. Overview Hair is made of keratin, just like nails.
